Ecotone Studios Re-envisioning landscapes as performative living systems Ecotone Studios is a landscape architecture and urban design practice based in Los Angeles, California.

Founded in 2011, the firm provides professional services to public agencies, non-profit organizations and private-sector clients for an extensive variety of project types and scales and is proficient in finding inventive, comprehensive solutions to the complex challenges found in contemporary built environments of Southern California and beyond. Ecotone Studios places a primary emphasis on collaboration with clients and within multi-disciplinary design teams. The firm has the motivation and resources to respond to each project uniquely and to expand accordingly through a network of collaborators from a diverse range of fields. Ecotone Studios embraces a design approach that values culture, infrastructure and ecology as equally integral components of a dynamic, performative living system. Through its research and design work, the firm intends to breach the philosophical boundaries between urban and wild and aspires to move beyond the dividing concept of nature toward a more thoughtful and inclusive land ethic.
