Just Embark was formed and is owned by an original Maryland couple whom has transplanted to the west coast in to San Diego. Christine and myself, Brian, have known each other since summer of 2011 and recently got married in June of 2013. Between those years Christine has always loved creating handmade items while being a full time student and part time yoga instructor. When it came to our wedding we made the decision to make a lot of items and decor ourselves, specifically by Christine. I, and some of the groomsmen decided to chip in and make our cornhole set for the wedding; which now is with us in San Diego! So if you like to play, hit us up!! Since the wedding we have been able to focus quite a bit on our own unique style and what type of things we make. Once we moved to San Diego, leaving all large possessions behind, we realized that we needed furniture, specifically tables and wall decor pieces. While we were staying at our friends house and looking for a place to live, I began building what is now our coffee table. Through much enjoyment of manhood growing, lots of power tools, saw dust, hammered thumbs, an occasional beer, and sweat, came about our beautiful chevron style coffee table. (Check out our pictures to see it. It's the one with the bicycle in the picture). This is when my passion for building things out of pallets was discovered and took off like a pea escaping the throngs of a fork. I realized a unique skill and desire that was within me. Not only within myself but we are able to utilize Christine's talent in artwork to do all the staining and painting. Each piece is unique from the other because no 2 pallets are the same. All pallets that we use were hand picked by myself. Please note that we ONLY use HT (Heat Treated) pallets. No chemical treated pallets here. So they are safe for food and in home use. We also are able to do custom wood burning of letters, pictures, phrases, or words to make each piece "Your Own!"
All of our creations are custom. See or know something you like but want a rustic pallet style spin? Contact us and we will work with you to make exactly what you want.
10% of all proceeds will be given to local organizations reaching out to our local and foreign communities.
