So, today (August 26th 2026) marks the approximate birthday of my business. I never made a note of when I started my first job working on my own, but it was round about this time, so a few years ago I nominated the 26th as my "official" birthday.
And I'm choosing today to announce that at some point in the next year or so I will be retiring. Given that I already have loads of work pencilled in, and that I don't want to be working flat out and then suddenly stop, I don't have an exact date yet. I want to plan out the work that I'm already committed to, building in gradually longer gaps between jobs, and then work out roughly when I can retire. But in the meantime, I am not taking on any new clients, so that I can focus in the coming months on keeping my existing customers happy.
