THE LEXICON LIBRARY
Shapes, Shaping meaning and form.
The Lexicon Library is an ongoing design research study exploring how shape, symbol and pattern can carry meaning.
Rooted in guiding principles found within ancient long African design pattern systems, the library looks to history not as something to replicate, but as a source from which to learn, interpret and reimagine using key principles and structure.
Each shape begins as part of this research, reformed, distilled, simplified and translated through a contemporary design language. Together, they form a growing visual lexicon: a library of shapes that can be composed, repeated and reinterpreted across textiles, objects and spaces.
The first result is a collection of contemporary pieces for the home, which form also a record of an evolving design practice where cultural research, geometry, colour and material come together to create objects with meaning.
The Lexicon Library makes its first debut at Shoppe Object Paris, 05–07 September 2026.
This first presentation is trade-facing, offering a first look at the library and its application across Lulasclan’s textiles and objects.
It is the beginning of our new chapter an ongoing study where we are interchangeably the learner and the creator. It is by far a conclusion, nor by no means the end of its intended destination.
