Blue Security was proud to attend the launch of West Park Special School’s Road Safety Awareness Event, alongside representatives from the Department of Transport, Metro Police, RTI and the security cluster, who shared important safety messages with learners.

The day included wonderful student performances and an interactive display featuring our Tactical Response vehicles and officers, Riot Squad and Officer Tazo from our K9 Unit, who engaged with the learners.

We are grateful for the privilege of being the school’s security provider and safety partner. West Park Special School is a truly special place, where kindness, respect and warmth shine through.

Shoplifting Attempt Ends with Two Suspects Located in Bothas Hill

Area: Bothas Hill
Date: 21 October 2026

Blue Security Control Room received information from a local store owner regarding two females who had allegedly attempted to shoplift items from the premises. The women reportedly attempted to conceal items in their clothing but were disturbed by the store owner, resulting in the items being left behind. No property was ultimately taken from the store.

Descriptions of the two females, along with CCTV footage and information regarding the direction in which they had fled, were circulated among Blue Security Tactical and Armed Response members.

Blue Security Tactical Officers immediately began searching the surrounding area. The two females were subsequently located along Old Main Road in Bothas Hill, with additional Blue Security members providing support.

The store owner and her husband attended and confirmed that no items had been stolen. They declined to open a case with SAPS and requested that the females be given a stern warning. The matter was therefore resolved on scene, with the two females released after receiving a verbal warning.

SNIPR Alert Leads to Wanted Vehicle Intercept in Hillcrest

Area: Hillcrest
Date: 20 October 2026

As part of Blue Security’s All Good In The Hood initiative, which combines a 24-hour tactical presence with advanced ANPR and CCTV technology across the Upper Highway community, a SNIPR ANPR alert identified a vehicle wanted in connection with a kidnapping case.

The vehicle was wanted in connection with an Inchanga SAPS case and was detected entering the Hillcrest area via the SNIPR ANPR camera network. The alert was immediately communicated to Blue Security Tactical members, who mobilised in the direction of the vehicle as it travelled along Old Main Road towards Hillcrest C*D.

Blue Security members successfully intercepted the vehicle in the Hillcrest C*D area near Hillcrest Corner. Three occupants were found inside the vehicle — two men and one woman.

The occupants were detained on scene pending the arrival of SAPS. Hillcrest SAPS responded promptly, took over the incident and transported the suspects to the Hillcrest police station. Inchanga SAPS was also informed of the interception and the vehicle's recovery.

The successful interception demonstrates the effectiveness of the All Good In The Hood initiative, combining real-time ANPR technology, tactical visibility and rapid response to identify and intercept wanted vehicles in the Upper Highway community.

Blue Security remains committed to using technology, proactive patrols and strong partnerships with law enforcement to help keep the Upper Highway community safe.
