New project, new province! 🏗️
We've officially started work on the Soshanguve Varsity Lodge, a new student accommodation project in Soshanguve, just north of Pretoria.
This one is a little different for us. The project belongs to ProAfrica Construction, who are the main contractor, and TopBuild has been brought in to help them out on the construction management side. We're really proud to be part of their team on this one 🤝
Right now it's all red soil, stockpiles and tyre tracks The site has been cleared and the earthworks are underway. Every project starts by getting your hands dirty.
Keep an eye on this page. We'll be sharing progress as the lodge starts to come out of the ground.

Taking a space from old and impractical to useful and beautiful 🙌

This driveway had definitely seen better days. The original brick paving had settled unevenly over the years, with moss taking over the joints and water sitting in the low spots after rain.

Our team ripped out every single brick, releveled and compacted the base properly, and relaid the whole area with new interlocking pavers. No more puddles, no more moss, just a clean, solid surface that will look this good for years to come. 💪

We turned this multi-level space, where the usable area was limited, into a practical space where the client can easily park their cars. Changes that make your day to day that much better. Well done to our Paarl team for another successful project.

Swipe through to see the transformation, from the old worn brick right through to the finished result. 👀

Need your driveway, paving or parking area sorted? We've got over 30 years of experience across Paarl, Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Durbanville and the rest of the Winelands. 📍

🏠 From fresh paint to fully finished, look at this transformation! 🔨✨
We recently completed this stunning lounge feature wall makeover for a client in the Winelands area, and honestly… the end result speaks for itself. 😍
Here's what went into this project:

📚 Custom-built pine shelving units on both sides of the fireplace

🔥 Floating mantelpiece shelf above the fireplace

🗄️ Built-in base cabinets with panel doors for hidden storage

From bare walls and masking tape to a fully styled, functional living space, that's the TopBuild difference. 💪
Whether you're dreaming of built-in shelving, a custom feature wall, or a full room renovation, we can bring your pinterest board to life.

🏗️ Two Phases. One Stunning Outdoor Space.
This courtyard came to us as a broken, tired paving job that had seen better days. The client wanted something completely different a functional outdoor living space with a custom built-in bench and a bold, modern paving finish.
We split the project into two phases:
Phase 1: The Bench Build
Full demolition of the old surface, then we brick-laid, plastered and finished a solid L-shaped concrete bench built to last and perfectly integrated into the courtyard walls.
Phase 2: The Paver Installation
Large-format dark slate pavers, laid with a 100mm grout line between each one. The wide joint spacing is a deliberate design choice that gives the space a contemporary, architectural feel you just don't get with standard paving.
The result? A completely transformed outdoor area the clients can actually use and be proud of.
This is the kind of detail work TopBuild does every day — whether it's a small courtyard or a full residential build.
