Earlier today, one of our CityWide Security response officers in Lorraine reported a house fire to our control room, at a non-client's residence. Our team immediately contacted the fire department while our officer stepped in to assist the homeowner.
With the fire spreading, our response officer helped the homeowner remove gas bottles from the house and move them to a safe distance. He then rescued the caged birds before returning to the property to locate and bring their blind dog to safety.
The fire department arrived on the scene and successfully brought the fire under control.
Sadly, damage to the property was unavoidable, but we are grateful that the people and animals are safe.
This is a reminder that being in security is not only about responding to alarms. It's about being there, lending a helping hand and going the extra mile to protect lives.
Proud of our response officer for his courage, quick thinking and compassion in a difficult situation.
