🎥 When last did you check your CCTV?

A camera on the wall is only part of the picture. Clear views, working recordings and secure access all help keep your surveillance system useful when you need it.

Take a few minutes this week to:
✅ Check for blind spots and blocked views.
✅ Clean camera lenses.
✅ Review daytime and nighttime footage.
✅ Confirm recordings save correctly and display the right date and time.
✅ Update camera software and enable two-factor authentication where available.

Position cameras thoughtfully to respect the privacy of neighbours and visitors.

📌 Save this checklist for your next CCTV check and share it with someone responsible for home or business security.

COMMUNITY SAFETY ALERT: KEMPTON PARK & RHODESFIELD

We are deeply concerned by the recent murders of women in and around Kempton Park. SAPS is investigating concerning similarities between the cases and has appointed a specialised task team. However, police have not confirmed that the deaths are linked to a serial killer, and we urge our community to share verified information only.

We understand the anger surrounding advice directed at women.

Women should not have to stop running, change their routines, surrender their freedom or hide away because others choose to harm them. Sharing temporary precautions is not intended to blame or restrict women. The responsibility for violence belongs entirely to those who commit it.

While investigations continue, SAPS has advised community members to remain vigilant, avoid isolated areas and, where possible, walk, run or travel with others. These precautions may help reduce immediate risk, but they are not the solution to gender-based violence.

Men must also take responsibility. Challenge abusive and threatening behaviour. Speak up when women are harassed or demeaned. Hold other men accountable. Never excuse intimidation, abuse or violence.

Axon Security remains vigilant, alert and ready to respond. We are committed to doing everything within our role to support the safety of the communities we serve.

Please report suspicious activity and never place yourself in danger by confronting someone.

SAPS Emergency: 10111
Crime Stop: 08600 10111
Anonymous tip-offs: MySAPS app
Axon Emergency: 0860 119 911

Our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones and every woman living with fear.

Women deserve safety, freedom and accountability—not blame.

Please save and share this post. Look out for one another and speak up.

FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING JOINT OPERATION

Four suspects, including a serving police sergeant, were arrested during a joint operation at a tavern in Nkandla Hostels, Extension 36, on 5 September 2026.

The operation followed information received from a community member regarding individuals allegedly possessing unlicensed fi****ms. When police and security personnel approached the premises, shots were allegedly fired at them. The area was secured, and all four suspects were arrested without injury.

A fi***rm with its serial number removed, 11 live rounds, four spent cartridge cases and two bags of he**in were recovered. The fi***rm is believed to be linked to an earlier robbery involving a police-issued fi***rm, subject to forensic verification.

The suspects face charges including attempted murder, discharging a fi***rm in a built-up area, possession of an unlicensed fi***rm and am******on, and possession of drugs.

Axon Security commends the community member who provided the information and every law-enforcement, security and community partner involved in the operation.

Together, we are building safer communities.
