Eight elevations and eight distinct briefs come together here to tell the story of one consistent way of working, where every design begins by listening closely to the site, the family and the life they dream of living.

There is a gabled family home that settles comfortably onto its suburban street, a house that steps gracefully down a hillside across three storeys, a thatch pavilion that feels at one with its landscape, and a facade of brick and timber that stands confidently on the road while remaining generous to its neighbours.

The forms change from project to project, yet the care, curiosity and attention behind each one remain exactly the same.

Every home we design begins at a table much like this one, with layers of tracing paper, a handful of well-worn pens and a site plan that slowly fills with ideas as the first lines of a new family home begin to take shape.

At this early stage we are discovering how the house will meet its site, how the living spaces will open towards the garden and how each room will flow naturally into the next, sketching over and over again until the plan feels as effortless to live in as it is beautiful to look at.

A new design is underway in our studio, and we look forward to sharing more as it grows from these first sketches into a home.

This home is organised around a dramatic double volume, where exposed steel beams stride across the ceiling and a floating mezzanine hovers above the living space, drawing daylight deep into the heart of the house.

Warm timber softens the strength of the steel at every turn, and one of the bedrooms wraps around a corner of glass that seems to dissolve the line between the room and the garden beyond.

Up on the roof, the journey ends on a sun-drenched deck where a lap pool stretches out among the treetops, the perfect place to watch the sky change colour at the close of the day.

Before the house reveals itself in full, Val de Vie offers a series of quiet introductions, from a living wall that greets you along the entrance walkway to a brass tap curving gracefully over a basin carved from richly veined stone.

The facade then appears at dusk, its black steel gables glowing with warm light from within, and the journey continues through a hall where the oak stair floats against two storeys of glass, a dining room lit by glittering chandeliers, and a kitchen gathered around a magnificent island of stone.

Every room was designed to open towards the winelands, so that the mountains, the garden and the changing light of the day become part of the experience of moving through this home.

Imagine sinking into a deep freestanding bath while the mountains of the winelands stretch across the horizon in front of you, because in the main bathroom at Val de Vie, that view was the starting point for every design decision.

The tub sits right by the glass so the landscape fills the frame, while fluted timber, pale veined stone and the soft gleam of brass create a palette that feels serene, warm and deeply restful. Sculptural loops of light hang above the vanity like pieces of jewellery, and the walk-in shower is wrapped in the same beautiful stone, with a softly lit niche tracing its full length.

It is a room created for slow mornings and unhurried evenings, where every line has been set out to celebrate the view.

In Waterfall, this home frames the sky with a quiet confidence, its deep eaves reaching out to cast generous pools of shade while clean, unbroken planes give the architecture a calm and timeless presence.

Glass has been placed precisely where the garden asks for it, so that every room enjoys its own composed view of greenery and light, and the house feels as though it was designed from the outside in and from the inside out at the very same time.
