The Story Behind OCD Epoxy
Every company has a story.
This is ours.
It all started in my own home.
One day I noticed the Rhinolite on my walls showing signs of dampness. I knew that if there was moisture in the walls or floor, there was no point installing epoxy because it would eventually fail. I wasn’t prepared to spend my hard-earned money on something that wouldn’t last.
So the journey began.
We stripped the damaged Rhinolite, removed every single floor tile, and started from scratch. My mom was right there beside me, helping through the dust, rubble and long days. Between lifting tiles, grinding concrete and carrying rubble, there were cuts, bruises and injuries along the way—but we kept going because we had one goal: do it properly.
Before anything else, I had the floors and walls tested for moisture. Once we knew everything was dry, we completed the damp-proofing so I could finally prepare for the floor I had always wanted.
Then came the search for someone who could create it.
I invited several companies to quote. Most told me they could only do plain-coloured epoxy floors, which wasn’t what I had envisioned.
Eventually I found a company with a professional website and a page dating back to 2021. They looked experienced, established and trustworthy. I thought I’d finally found the right people.
Unfortunately, I hadn’t.
Instead of the seamless designer floor I dreamed of, I ended up with visible stripes across the floor and showers that had been badly finished.
Once again, I found myself searching for someone to fix someone else’s mistakes.
I was referred to another epoxy company. They assured me they knew exactly what they were doing.
They didn’t.
The floor started cracking.
It developed bubbles.
There were random holes throughout the finish.
When I asked them to repair it, things only got worse.
The repaired floor came back with sand trapped in the epoxy, patches everywhere, drips, epoxy splashed onto my walls and bath, and a large grey patch right in the middle of what was supposed to be a beautiful white-and-blue floor.
I was devastated.
After spending so much money, trusting different companies, and hearing promise after promise, I was left with a floor that looked nothing like what I had paid for.
That’s when I made a decision.
If I couldn’t find someone who would treat my home with the care and attention it deserved, then I would become that person for others.
I dedicated myself to learning epoxy flooring properly. I studied the products, the preparation, moisture testing, surface profiling, repairs, application techniques and finishing methods. I wanted to understand every step—not just how to install epoxy, but how to install it correctly.
That’s how OCD Epoxy was born.
Our name isn’t just a brand.
It’s a promise.
A promise that every floor is prepared properly.
A promise that moisture is checked before installation.
A promise that corners are never cut.
A promise that we treat every project as if it were our own home.
Because we’ve experienced the disappointment ourselves, we understand how important it is to get it right the first time.
We don’t just install epoxy floors.
We restore confidence.
We deliver craftsmanship.
We create floors you’ll be proud to show off for years to come.
