The first night market of the season! Come and join us Blaauwklippen Family Market on Friday night from 4 till 9pm.

If you can't make Friday night, we're open from 9 till 5 on Saturday and Sunday.

You can also find us at Scarab market in Sedgefield from 8:30 till 2 on Saturday.

This week's featured product - Jellyfish Touring Company on a cushion. Jan's notes:

"I came across this amazing boat in a photo essay one day, and was compelled to use it in a painting, but it needed something equally unique to live with. For no reason that I can recall the idea of it being towed through the sky by a jellyfish came to mind.

And that jellyfish still lurks about in more recent paintings."

The first night market of the season takes place at Blaauwklippen Family Market this Friday 30th October from 4 till 9pm. Saturday and Sunday trading from 9 till 5 as usual, weather permitting.

Sedgefield Scarab market from 8:30 till 2 on Saturday.

The first in a series which will feature one of our products. This one is The Traveller. Here is Jan's comment on the painting:

I watched a video of a guy teaching himself to ride a penny farthing, and that story combined with some other imagery to produce a small piece, which proved so popular, a string of paintings ensued in response to the demand it created. The series had to end somewhere, so the plan was to do one final large format version and make prints from there, which is what you see here. (You can see that progression on Instagram if you like - Jan Cilliers de Wet)

A year ago today, Jan left us. But he lives on through his art.

It is wonderful to see how much his work affects people and how passionate so many of them are about it. He has left a wonderful legacy 🌻.

Gone, but never forgotten.

Set up and ready for the day. Almost there with regard to the final look of the stall, but some lighting is required, methinks.

In other news, the Root 44 stall has moved a couple of passages into the building and had a facelift. The first three photos are immediately after the move, the 2nd three are after the facelift 😁.
