As October draws to a close, we’re reminded of just how beautiful this time of year is. Gardens are flourishing, everything feels a little greener, and there is beauty all around us if we take the time to notice it. 🌿

A garden doesn’t flourish by itself. It needs care, attention and a little patience. And perhaps our lives are much the same.

The spaces we create, the people we love and the things we choose to nurture all deserve a little of that same attention.

As leave this beautiful month, may we remember to take pride in what we cultivate and make time to appreciate the beauty in the everyday.

Some places have a way of staying with you. The Kalahari is one of them.

There’s something special about its wide-open spaces, earthy colours and quiet beauty. A place with a character all its own — and a setting that deserves interiors with just as much personality.

For this project, we created a collection of scatter cushions using fabric from Hertex’s Editeur collection. Known for its sophisticated designs and luxurious finishes, Editeur offers plenty of scope to bring depth, texture and character into an interior.

It’s often these thoughtful details that make a house feel like home, especially when that home is somewhere as special as the Kalahari.

Some pieces are worth saving... This one was worth celebrating 💚

Inherited from her grandmother, this old sofa arrived at Brown Design ready for a new look.

Our client gave Isabella and her team plenty of room to play with her love for bold colours, funky designs and green.

The result? A complete transformation featuring beautiful Ardmore fabric, paired with Hertex Shweshwe and finished with Isabella’s signature pinstripe piping.

And because the fabrics are suitable for outdoor use, this statement piece can move effortlessly between a patio and other spaces in the home.

A treasured family piece, reimagined with personality, colour and a whole lot of heart — just like the special client it was created for.

A beautiful transformation for this armchair, brought to life with a textured fabric from Hertex.

For this new client, we not only renewed the seating but also reupholstered the chair in a fabric with a lovely, tactile weave.

Texture plays an important role in interior design. With so many smooth surfaces in our homes — from tiled floors and tabletops to walls and cabinetry — introducing textured fabrics is a wonderful way to add depth, contrast and visual interest to a space.

An upholstered armchair is the perfect opportunity to do just that. Sometimes, one carefully chosen fabric is all it takes to make a difference.
