The finishing touches on our exterior repaint at Gosha Primary School. 💙

As part of our ongoing support, we have been refreshing the school’s exterior window frames, adding colour and care to the spaces learners and staff use every day.

These close-up details may seem small, but they play an important role in the overall feel of a school environment. Freshly painted window frames help make the space look brighter, cleaner and better maintained, creating a more welcoming atmosphere from the outside in.

Painting over mould does not remove the problem.

Mould commonly develops in damp areas with limited sunlight or ventilation. If it is not properly removed before painting, it may return through the new coating. 🫟

Before repainting:
• Identify and address the source of moisture
• Remove existing mould growth
• Clean and prepare the complete affected area
• Allow the surface to dry appropriately
• Select a coating suited to the environment

A fresh coat should be the final step, not the mould treatment plan.

As part of our continued work at Gosha Primary School, we have been assisting with the resurfacing and resealing of the classroom floors.

This before-and-after transformation shows how important well-maintained spaces are in creating classrooms that feel cleaner, brighter and more cared for. While floors are often overlooked, they form part of the daily environment learners and teachers move through, sit in and work in.

By improving these surfaces, we are helping support classrooms that feel more practical, comfortable and ready for learning.

Does the wall leave a fine powder on your hand when you rub it?

This is known as chalking. It happens when a powdery layer forms on the paint film during weathering and can make the colour appear faded.

Possible causes include:
• Normal weathering over time
• Using a lower-grade coating
• Applying an interior paint outdoors
• Prolonged exposure to sunlight

Do not paint directly over a chalky surface. Remove the loose residue and use the correct preparation system before repainting.
