Render vs. Reality: Gurner Street edition. As designers, we spend so much time envisioning how a space will look and feel long before it exists. Watching that vision transform into a real, finished home, with every texture and detail seamlessly in place - is the ultimate satisfaction for our team at KMI.

From what started as a single 2-hour Power Session... to a fully realised dream home.

When we first sat down for this Lawrence Street project, it was all about untangling design choices and getting clear direction. Fast forward to last months shoot, and we couldn’t be more in love with the final result.

Whether you’re building, renovating, or styling, 120 minutes with the expert goes a long way. Book a Power Session with Kate via the link in our bio.

Positano, you were everything we’d dreamed of—and more. 🍋🇮🇹

Pastel houses tumbling down the cliffs. A Vespa in the living room. Postcard views. Limoni the size of footballs. Days spent on the water. Hair-raising cliffside roads. Nonna’s home-cooked breakfasts. A clam shell bathtub. Cascades of bougainvillea. Hand-painted ceramics + beautiful linens. And Aperol on tap.

Every moment was magnificent, inspiring, chaotic, joy-filled and bellissima… even when it wasn’t.

The Italians have mastered something we’ve forgotten: life isn’t meant to be Instagram perfect. Its beauty lies in the crumbling facades, worn patinas, unexpected detours and glorious imperfections. Somehow it shouldn’t all work together—and yet that’s exactly where the magic lives.

La dolce vita isn’t about perfection to impress. It’s about creating beauty to enjoy everyday. Creating spaces and moments that are collected rather than curated. Letting character, history and happenstance do some of the heavy lifting.

It’s a timely reminder that our obsession with perfection often gets in the way of real creativity.

So I’m coming home with more than lemon ceramics (tempting as they are 🍋😉). I’m bringing back a renewed appreciation for patina, personality, imperfection and the quiet magic that happens when we stop trying so hard to make everything perfect.

Heart full. Belly full. Inspiration overflowing.

Thrilled that our Paddington project has been featured in the June issue of House & Garden.

This home was such a special one to work on. It felt deeply personal - a home layered with history, friendship and a shared love of timeless design. Every detail was considered to create something elegant yet deeply liveable, with soul, warmth and longevity at its core.

I’ve known for over 20yrs, we go waaay back to our previous careers in the fashion world. Sharing the same aesthetic language and iconic references made this project such a full circle moment.
