That’s a wrap on our Autumn Open Day!

Seven-metre thujas, finally out of the ground 🪴

This summer’s heat dried the soil so much that lifting was almost impossible. A tree this size needs moisture in the ground when it’s lifted. That’s what keeps the rootball solid and the root system intact.

The quality starts well below the canopy.

These have already been shipped to a site for install but what specimens they were to have at the nursery.

Clear stem vs multi-stem 🤔

A clear stem has an open section of trunk beneath the crown. A multi-stem has several trunks growing from near the base.

When choosing a specimen tree, specify the form as well as the species and overall height. The space beneath the canopy is part of the design too.

A familiar shrub, grown into a different shape.

rates Abelia × grandiflora as one of the hardest working shrubs you can have. These have been trained up into a multi-stem form, and as he points out, they don’t mind being clipped.

Celebrating our past, present and future 30 Under 30er’s! 🎉

It’s Abbey’s turn! Our latest 30 Under 30 honouree, following in Michael and Sam’s footsteps. That makes three for Creepers.

Abbey, we’re so proud of you and grateful to have you on the team. A very well-deserved nod to a brilliant human.

We’ve made some space. Naturally, we’re going to fill it with plants. 🌳

Six to eight weeks of hard graft in Surrey means more room for stock and quicker order turnaround. After a summer that didn’t know when to leave, rootball lifting is underway, with hedging and trees arriving too.

The New Forest team have kept things moving through a tough summer, Chelsea R&D is underway with around 1,500 plants already on the ground, and Liam and Ed are flat out with bulbs and bedding in London.
