Optelma Lighting

Optelma manufacture & specify Architectural Lighting solutions for U.K and international projects.

Established in Switzerland in 1955, they are now celebrating over 60 years in Lighting , boasting a comprehensive range of products and experience. We manufacture all our extruded linear systems – both standard and custom – in our dedicated UK factory in Somerset. Our Swiss factory uses its 60 years of experience in precision lighting to manufacture our high performance downlights and spotlights. Optelma also maintains partnerships with French plaster manufacturer, Atelier Sedap – a relationship that spans more than 25 years – and Lightnet, a German manufacturer who Optelma have collaborated with for the past five years. After sales support

Our aim is to deliver your project on time, on budget and for it to look as good as the designer intended. We appreciate that sometimes there are challenges along the way to delivering a project but our after-sales team, based in our Oxfordshire head office, are available to help overcome issues along the way. The team can assist with installation, maintenance, warranty or technical questions. Together with on-site support Optelma can offer a total solution to your project. Bespoke luminaires

When standard simply won’t do, we work with you to design and manufacture completely bespoke fittings. Guided by our 60 years of experience, working closely with architects, designers and specifiers, our team bring your own ideas to life with minimum to no compromise from concept through to delivery. Lighting Design

Optelma offers a lighting design service to support its own product range. This is a free service offered by our dedicated Design Team; a particularly useful facility for smaller projects where the client may not see the value of a specialist lighting design consultancy.

✨ A Contemporary Lighting Scheme for Pinewood Studios ✨

Working alongside Etch Associates, Optelma supplied a coordinated architectural lighting scheme across two floors, incorporating five distinct luminaire types to meet the different lighting requirements of the project.
The scheme combines Tube 60, Tube 60 Track, Quad W, Indi Round and Magneto, introducing a mixture of linear, circular and track-mounted lighting throughout the spaces.
Tube 60 and Tube 60 Track provide a consistent cylindrical aesthetic, with the track-mounted option offering flexibility in the positioning and arrangement of luminaires. Quad W introduces a more structured linear element, while Indi Round and Magneto provide contrasting forms within the overall design.
All luminaires were specified at 3500K, maintaining a consistent colour temperature across both floors despite the variation in product styles. Switch dimmable control was incorporated throughout, providing simple, practical control of the lighting.
The completed scheme brings together five different Optelma product families within a single project, demonstrating how a combination of luminaire shapes, mounting styles and lighting arrangements can be used to deliver the clean, modern aesthetic envisioned by Etch Associates.

💙 World Humanitarian Day 💙

Today, we honour the people around the world who dedicate their lives to helping others, often in the most challenging circumstances. Their compassion, courage and commitment inspire us all.

At Optelma Lighting, we believe that every space should be designed with people in mind. While lighting may seem like a small detail, it has the power to make a real difference, creating environments that feel safe, support wellbeing, improve accessibility and bring communities together.

Whether it's a healthcare facility, educational setting, workplace or public space, thoughtful lighting helps people feel more comfortable, connected and empowered.

On this World Humanitarian Day, we're reminded that positive change comes in many forms. We're proud to play our part by designing lighting solutions that help create brighter, more welcoming spaces for everyone.

Together, let's continue building environments where people can thrive.
