Sometimes life asks more of a family than anyone should have to bear alone.

Maria is a mother of two teenagers whom I met while we were both navigating the challenges of homelessness. After spending several months in a shelter, Maria has recently secured a safe place for herself and her children. She has been working to rebuild their lives and create a more stable future for her family.

Tragically, Maria’s brother recently died by su***de. His sudden death has brought an unimaginable amount of grief to a family that is already working hard to get back on its feet.

Alongside the emotional pain of losing someone they love, Maria and her family are now facing unexpected funeral and memorial expenses. They also need help traveling back from the town where her brother died to the safe place that Maria and her children have worked so hard to establish.

**We are raising funds to help with:**
- Funeral and memorial service expenses so the family can honor Maria’s brother and say goodbye.
- Transportation for Maria and her children to return to their home and support system.
- Other necessary expenses directly related to the loss and the family’s immediate needs.

Maria is facing this loss without the financial resources to manage these unexpected costs on her own. Our hope is to ease some of that burden so that she and her children can grieve, support one another, and return to the stability they have been working so hard to build.

No family should have to face the loss of a loved one while worrying about how they will afford a funeral or get home safely.

If you are able to contribute, any amount will make a difference. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would also mean a great deal.
