51 years ago Hovland Lumber opened. 3 years ago it became H&H Lumber when I bought the business. 1 year ago today I quit the corporate job and went full time into chasing the dream! No looking back, this journey is a blast.

Thanks to my wife and family for all their support and believing in me. I couldnt do it without guy guys!

Took a walk through a few houses on the artisan parade of homes this weekend with my family. Beams everywhere. White oak flooring in literally all of the houses. Nicklegap is the king of T&G profiles right now. It was nice to see a fair bit more stained wood. Theres still alot of painted white wood, but there was a lot of rich stained wood too.

About a year ago I took the leap, left the corporate world and got into small business full time. I've never worked so hard in my life, or found the work to be so rewarding. One full time year in and I'm loving it.

How fast is 1 mph? Pretty darn fast when youre running T&G paneling through a widebelt sander. 5,440 lf done in 64 minutes (then sped up to 10 seconds). I love it when things are running smooth.

I once asked Eric how many clamps we should put on. His reply: "how many do you have?"
Theres no such thing as too many clamps.

Love being a part of so many cool projects around Minnesota and Wisconsin. This thermally modified exterior looks awesome. Can't wait to do the interior. The customer wants no sheet rock in the entire home! Wall to wall, floor to ceiling wood.

Clear vertical grain is the highest grade of cedar. No knots, no cathedral style grain patterns. Its not cheap, but it sure is pretty.
