Underhill Plants is a small retail plant shop in Downtown Olympia, Washington. We specialize in houseplants, local pottery, plant art, plant care, specialty soil and amendments, repotting, species identification, plant styling, and more! We're now hosting regular workshops and events in our upstairs events space which we've named Overhill. Plant Swap! 🌱 Saturday, October 24th from 12pm - 2pm • Bring your unwanted plants and trade them for new ones in Underhill’s upstairs event space! 🌱🔁🌱

Can’t make it to the swap? No problem! Self-serve swap station available in store Wednesday, October 21st through Sunday, October 25th!

We recommend arriving at the start time of the plant swap (12pm) for the best trades!

What can you bring to our plant swaps and swap station?
◆ Potted plants, cuttings, starts, moss poles, humidifiers, pots, grow lights, substrates (leca, moss, etc)
◆ Pictures of plants too large to bring that you would like to trade or gift to someone else
◆ Planters, cover pots, gloves, small tools, grow lights, heat mats
◆ Plant-related items, art, or additional supplies that you want to gift or trade

Please don’t bring:
◆ Plants with pests or bugs
◆ Plants with significant health issues
◆ Dirty/unwashed potting supplies
◆ Jars or cups of water (use a moist paper towel and/or ziplock instead)
◆ Excess of individually wrapped cuttings (please group similar cuttings/aim to reduce plastic use)

Time to get spooky! 👻🌿🎃 Spooky terrarium workshop dates are all on the website and listed below~ You’ll learn all about terrariums, why they thrive, and how to care for them, while building a one-of-a-kind tiny haunted jungle! 🌱👻 *Real ghosts not included* (fake ghosts were the best we could do)

Attendees are provided with all the materials needed to create their own terrarium, with optional decorations including tiny creepy critters and spooky decor! Decor includes tiny ghosts, pumpkins, coffins, crows, skulls, critters, and much much more- feel free to bring your own terrarium safe decor as well!

We wanted a way to reward our loyal customers without dealing with the text systems, and we also wanted to find a way for folks to “collect plants” even if they might be out of space for more plants at home. With the one-of-a-kind planty stamp card you can keep a few plants in your wallet at all times! 💚

Our goal is to eventually partner with other shops and make the stamp card a sort of “discount pass” for promotional events! Reach out if you’re a business who’d like to trade stamps sometime!
