A few of my favorite snapshots from the last two weeks. 🍂

The people are what make this work so rewarding. Old friends, new connections, and a reminder that this industry is full of talented people, sharing parts of themselves at these gatherings. I loved meeting new artists and antiquarians, and celebrating milestone birthdays.

SF in October means summer is here! The warm weather, the energy, the familiar faces coming in from out of town for the Fall Show and everything around it. Life has been very full lately and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 💛

Too many people are living in spaces that could belong to anyone: flat white walls, builder grade cabinets, lighting that came with the house, finishes that were chosen to OFFEND NO ONE and inspire no one either.

Your home is the place you start and end every single day. It should have PERSONALITY. It should have mood and hues that match you. It should have things in it that make you FEEL something.

That is always going to be a yes from us!

One of my favorite weeks of the year. 🌟

The San Francisco Fall Show is happening now through Sunday, October 18th at Fort Mason Center. This is the leading art, antiques, and design fair on the West Coast and this year’s theme is Métallique Chic! Yassss ✨ Think gold leaf, copper patina, silver filigree, burnished surfaces..

So thrilled that AAPIDA is a cultural partner of the Fall Show this year. If you love design, art, or beautiful objects, this one is good for the soul and the inspiration bank.

We had a beautiful evening celebrating Clara Jung and the debut of her book, Storied Homes.

The event was held at the David Ireland House here in San Francisco - very cool!! This was the perfect backdrop for a night full of good conversation, incredible florals, and a room full of people who genuinely love this industry.

Seeing Clara’s book out in the world is such a well-deserved moment. If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, go find it on Amazon!

What does an interior designer actually do?

More than most people expect, and a lot of it happens behind the scenes.

We start by listening. To how you live, what isn’t working, what you’ve always wanted, and what you absolutely don’t want. From there we build a full design, communicated through mood boards, material samples, and detailed 2D and 3D drawings that convey what your space will look like before anything gets built.

Then comes the ex*****on. We manage the construction process alongside your architect, and contractor. We track decisions, and coordinate timelines, catching problems before they become expensive issues.

There are hundreds to thousands of decisions in any renovation. Our job is to make each one feel clear, keep the project moving, and make sure the finished result is worth everything that went into it.

THAT is what an interior designer does.

Denim Rush is having a moment 💙

Our blue library was featured as the hero image in Livingetc’s September color crush article, all about this shade of blue that feels as timeless as your favorite pair of jeans.

Bold, saturated, and deeply livable. We’ve always believed in committing fully to color, and this room is a good example of what happens when you do.

A kitchen renovation is one of the most complex projects you can take on in a home. It touches everything: layout, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, appliances, lighting, finishes. When it’s done well you forget how much effort went into it- that’s the goal.

This is our Deepening Roots kitchen in San Francisco. Featuring fluted sage green island and hood, white perimeter cabinetry including an appliance garage, veined marble counters, and nickel details throughout.
