Did you know that rats laugh? When they are gently tickled, they produce tiny, high-frequency squeaks that are too high for human ears to hear. But it is the same sounds that are associated with them when they express joy and playfulness. Some studies even show that some rats will seek out or follow the person who tickled them for more !

As the leaves begin their descent. The evenings grow longer and quieter, and the veil grows thinner. During this time of the year nature teaches us that every ending carries the promise of a new beginning. Just as the leaves and the natural world begin to die during this time, we remember that spring will come and bring new life. That within the stillness of autumn we are invited to honor both life and death.
